SYDNEY, Australia (26 Apr 2002) -- Police have identified human remains found in a three-meter tiger shark caught off the southeast coast of Australia near Sydney.

The body was identified as 52-year-old Lee Kang Suk, a fisherman who was reported missing three weeks ago after being swept out to sea while fishing from rocks near Port Kembla, 150 kilometers south of Sydney.

Police checked files of unsolved murder cases and missing persons prior to conducting an autopsy.

Shreds of clothing and dental records confirmed the identity of the body parts.

Police believe Suk drowned and his body had been in the water for some time before the shark ate it.
