SUVA, Fiji (28 Feb 2001) -- The army and police forces have been put on high alert after bomb threats.

Security is tight in the capital city of Suva a day ahead of the Court of Appeal decision that will decide if Fiji's army-installed government will remain in power.

Security forces are checking buildings for bombs and plan to seal off the government buildings after bomb checks have been completed.

Meanwhile, followers of rebel racist George Speight have announced they will establish a new political party to campaign in the next elections.
