PENSACOLA, Florida 17 July 2001) -- Tourists on Florida beaches are afraid to go in the water after two more shark attacks.

Michael Waters, 48, of Pensacola was bitten on the foot by a shark while surfing Sunday at Pensacola Beach.

Waters had surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital to repair damaged blood vessels in his left foot. Other than two lacerations on his foot and heel, he is fine and is expected to make a full recovery.

The attack on Waters was similar to another one in Florida waters Sunday.

Tim Flanagan, an 18-year-old tourist from Cincinnati was bitten on the foot by a 3-foot shark while riding a boogie board off Amelia Island, about 38 miles north of Jacksonville, officials said. Flanigan was treated and released from Shands Jacksonville hospital Monday morning.
