Young California mother dies scuba diving in Australia

SYDNEY, Australia (10 Dec 2002) -- Police are investigating the death of a California tourist who died scuba diving near Jervis Bay south of Sydney.

Shoalhaven Police found the body of the 37-year-old mother of two at about 8 pm just 20 meters off Hyams Beach.

Investigation officials said the woman was on holiday with her husband and two young children, aged 7 and 13.

 

The family had been in Australia for a week and was scheduled to return to California on Thursday.
