CANCUN, Mexico (7 June 2007) -- Dolphin Discovery, the notorious animal exploitation company that colludes with dolphin slave traders to sell dolphin-riding harassment tours throughout the Caribbean, has destroyed a coral reef off Cancun. A boat owned by Dolphin Discovery that sells interactive dolphin-riding, dolphin-petting and dolphin-kissing tours destroyed more than 11,000 square feet of coral reef when it sank in the Punta Nizic National Park, between the resort of Cancun and Isla de Mujeres island. "It is hard blow to the local environment," said Alfredo Arellano, the environment department's regional director of protected areas. According to scientists and coastal marine wildlife managers, interactive marine animal encounters are bad for both people and marine wildlife. Florida, Hawaii and the Cayman Islands have banned shark feeding and other harassment of marine wildlife. The United Nations advises divers to look but not touch or feed marine wildlife. But Dolphin Discovery, PADI, Project Aware, DEMA and Scuba Diving Magazine continue to promote commercial exploitation of marine wildlife, a multi-million dollar industry based on the notion that wild animals should be exploited to entertain people. "The dolphin greets you with a handshake, a kiss on the cheek, and lets you kiss it as well," says Dolphin Discovery, which sells its "UNFORGETTABLE" interactive tours for $99. "Later, you will get close and personal with your new friend while it takes you on a belly-ride...at the end, you will be able to enjoy moments of great spontaneity during your free time together (as we count the bucks)." © CDNN - CYBER DIVER NEWS NETWORK |
