Two men caught poaching abalone in Australia

ADELAIDE, Australia (28 August 2007) -- Fisheries officers arrested two men in South Australia who were caught poaching abalone worth nearly $3,000.

Authorities told CDNN the men took about 200 abalone worth nearly AUD $3,000. The bag limit in South Australia is five abalone per diver.

The men, who are residents of Mawson Lakes and Salisbury Heights in Adelaide, must appear in court where they will face fines and imprisonment for poaching.

Authorities declined to reveal the identity of the two men.
