TALIPAO, Philippines (3 May 2000) -- Muslim rebels said two of the foreign hostages being held on Jolo Island died in fighting between military troops and the guerrillas. Military officials expressed skepticism about the claim stating there was no sign of any blood in the hut where the hostages were being held. The rebels claim one hostage was shot and another died of a heart attack.
