Bomb explodes at Manila International Airport

JOLO, Philippines (4 June 2000) -- A bomb exploded at Manila International airport early this morning causing damage but no casualties.

It was the fifth blast in the Manila area in recent weeks.

The explosions have been linked to a terrorist campaign sponsored by the Abu Sayyaf, an Al-Qaeda linked Islamic separatist group in the Mindanao region.

Twenty-six Muslims have been arrested and charged with involvement in the bombings which killed one and seriously injured 24 others.
