SUVA, Fiji (13 July 2000) -- Deposed Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry and 17 other hostages have been freed by terrorist rebels after almost two months in captivity. But with civil unrest spreading across the country and an interim government controlled by rebels with a racist agenda, Fiji's political crisis is just beginning. The United States, New Zealand and Australia urged their citizens to get out of Fiji as rebel supporters seized tourist resorts, police stations and cut off highways leading to Nadi International Airport. © CDNN - CYBER DIVER NEWS NETWORK | | Tourists are urged to leave Fiji |
