MONROE COUNTY, Florida (3 Feb 2005) -- A 20-year-old man has been booked for allegedly stealing scuba diving equipment and fishing gear in Islamorada.

Doan Gonzalez of Hialeah was jailed on $20,000 bond after the Monroe County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for his arrest.

Police said Gonzales has been accused of stealing a scuba diving regulator and tank valued at about $1,150 from the El Capitan residence of David Curcs and six rod and reel sets valued at about $450 from the Matecumbe Resort.

Police found the stolen items in Gonzalez's car after stopping and arresting him for diving with a suspended license.

Gonzalez faces one felony charge and several misdemeanor charges.
