Funeral held for drowned scuba diver

MYSTIC, Connecticut (11 July 2005) -- Funeral services have been held for a scuba diver who drowned while scuba diving with her boyfriend off Ram Island in Long Island Sound.

Sandra Palmer Dagata, 44, went missing on June 20 after getting caught in a strong current.

Several dive rescue teams launched a huge search but failed to find the missing diver.

Her body was finally found by a fishermen some 10 days later.

Sandra Palmer D'Agata disappeared June 20 while scuba diving off Ram Island near Groton. Her body was found 10 days later.

She is survived by two teenage daughters.
