DURBAN, South Africa (22 Feb 2005) -- A gruesome scuba diving accident has taken the life of a young South African scuba diver. Andre Wolmarans, 20, died while cleaning a fishing trawler propeller. According to police, someone inside the vessel accidentally activate the propeller. Wolmarans worked for Subtech Diving and Marine, a company that offers commercial diving services in the Durban area. "Wolmarans was standing on the propeller and conducting a routine polish when the propeller was accidentally engaged from inside the vessel and he was killed," said Andre Krugel, Subtech's Director of health, safety and environmental quality. | | Police rescue divers searched Durban harbor for more than seven hours before they found Wolmaran's body.
