GERALDTON, Australia (20 Mar 2005) -- A diver was bitten in half and killed by a huge shark off Australia's west coast yesterday.

Geoffrey Brazier, the 26-year-old captain of the luxury charter vessel 'Matrix', was diving with tourists at the Abrolhos Islands, which are located some 60 kilometers off the west coast of Australia.  The 'Matrix' was on its maiden voyage.

One of the tourists who was in the water snorkeling when the shark attacked told CDNN it was at least six meters long.

Police said the shark attack happened at Wreck Point off Pelseant Island where the 'Matrix' had anchored for scuba diving and snorkeling.
