Golf ball diver drowns in Penticton

PENTICTON, Canada (24 Apr 2005) -- A golf ball diver has drowned at the St. Andrew by the Lake golf course in Penticton Canada.

Patrick Allan Baker, 33, drowned while diving for golf balls in a lake on the course.

Police told CDNN a local doctor who lives near the course and a nurse who was playing golf at the time of the accident attempted to revive the victim at the scene of the accident.

The Kaleden Fire Department and B.C. Ambulance emergency crews arrived at about 2:30pm and rushed Baker to Penticton Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The scuba diving accident is under investigation by local authorities.
