Another scuba diver dies on James Egan Layne shipwreck

CORNWALL, UK (3 June 2005) -- A scuba diver has died after an accident on the popular James Egan Layne shipwreck in Whitsand Bay off Cornwall.

Mark Jackson, 41, experienced problems while wreck diving with four friends on Thursday afternoon.

A Royal Navy helicopter responded to a distress call after the victim was found unconscious at the surface.

 

The helicopter rushed the victim to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where he was pronounced dead.

Another diver, Raymond Thomas, 47, of Cardiff, died on the same wreck on May 21.
