Cruise ship passenger dies scuba diving in Cayman Islands

GRAND CAYMAN ISLAND (22 June 2005) -- A cruise ship passenger died while scuba diving in the Cayman Islands.

The victim was a 53-year-old American who collapsed and died after he returned to the cruise ship from a scuba diving trip.

According to witnesses on the cruise ship, the victim complained that he could not breath after returning from the dive trip.

Paramedics from the George Town Hospital responded to the emergency but were unable to revive the victim who was pronounced dead at George Town Hospital.

 

The accident is under investigation and an autopsy was performed.
