Scuba diver pulled unconscious from Puget Sound off Alki Point

SEATTLE, Washington (28 June 2005) -- A male scuba diver in his 50s was rushed to hospital after a scuba diving accident in Puget Sound off Alki Point.

The diver, who was diving with a buddy, signaled for an ascent after running low on air.

But instead of ascending, the 'low-on-air' diver started sink deeper. His buddy managed to pull him to the surface and then to shore.

Paramedics responded to the emergency and rushed the stricken diver to Harborview Medical Center.

The Seattle Fire Department reported that the man had a pulse when he was taken to the hospital but offered no other details about his condition.
