American tourist dies scuba diving at Sand Dollar Resort in Bonaire

BONAIRE (8 Aug 2005) -- An American tourist died while scuba diving at Sand Dollar Resort in Bonaire.

The victim was a 46-year-old male who was scuba diving with other divers when the accident happened.

Security personnel at the Sand Dollar Resort responded quickly after they heard divers in the group calling for help.

 

A local physician who specializes in dive medicine also responded to the emergency and pronounced the diver dead at the scene of the accident.

The doctor speculated the victim died from a heart attack.
