NEW LONDON, Connecticut (14 Aug 2005) -- Police have not yet released the identitiy of a man in his 40s who died scuba diving in Fishers Island Sound. The victim's dive buddy alerted a passing boat of a diving emergency and people aboard the vessel called the Coast Guard at about 1 p.m.. Both the Coast Guard and Stonington police responded to the emergency and the victim was rushed to The Westerly Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
