WELLINGTON, New Zealand (29 Aug 2005) -- The search for a scuba diver missing in Cook Strait has resumed.

Two aircraft are searching Cook Strait and the upper part of Marlborough Sounds.

The diver went missing when he and his buddy were dragged down by currents to a depth of 64 meters (209 feet).

The other diver surfaced with the bends and is being treated at a decompression chamber in Christchurch.

A Westpac Rescue helicopter responded to the emergency, winched the injured diver into the helicopter and flew him to hospital.
