HOLLYWOOD, Florida (11 Sep 2005) -- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating an accident in which a diver was killed by a 'hit and run' boat.

The diver died Saturday evening after he was run over by a boat near John U. Lloyd Beach State Park.

The diver's buddy who witnessed the accident said the boat operator did not stop.

Police said it is possible the people in the boat did not realize they had hit a diver.

Officer Jorge L. Pino of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the accident investigation would be difficult because witnesses were not able to give a detailed description of the boat.
