DWEJRA, Malta (22 Sep 2005) -- The Armed Forces of Malta Rescue Coordination Centre airlifted an injured diver to hospital after responding to a scuba diving emergency.

The AMF received a distress call that a group of seven divers were in trouble off Dwejra.

Six of the divers managed to get ashore on their own but one diver, a female tourist from Germany, had to be winched into a rescue helicopter.

She was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
