MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina (10 Oct 2005) -- A Pennsylvania woman collapsed after scuba diving off the coast of South Carolina and was airlifted to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Beth Moore, 40, died Sunday afternoon while scuba diving with friends on an annual trip to South Carolina.

After Moore collapsed at about 3:30pm, the boat crew alerted authorities who scrambled a helicopter.

The victim was airlifted to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy has been scheduled and officials hope it will provide more information as to why Moore died.
