CAPE TOWN, South Africa (13 Oct 2005) -- The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is continuing to search for a scuba diver who went missing on Thursday afternoon. Witnesses told CDNN the 25-year-old male diver was scuba diving off Castle Rock near Simon's Town when he ran out of air. He and his scuba diving 'buddy' then initiated an out-of-air emergency ascent in which two divers slowly ascend sharing one air source. Although the two divers reached the surface, they lost contact and the out-of-air diver disappeared beneath the waves. Police search and rescue divers, Metro Rescue divers and a navy dive team have joined the search. © CDNN - CYBER DIVER NEWS NETWORK |
