MONTEREY, California (16 Oct 2005) -- The parents of a female dive instructor who died after a scuba diving accident have settled their lawsuit against American Medical Response, an ambulance company.

In 2002, scuba diving instructor Mollie Suh Yaley, 26, was found unconscious at a depth of about 5 meters (15 feet) off a Monterey beach.

She was taken to hospital by an American Medical Response ambulance where she remained in a coma for four days before she died.

Her parents, William and Arlene Yaley, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against both American Medical Response and Monterey County claiming negligence.

The terms of the settlement are confidential and American Medical Response has admitted no wrongdoing.

The attorney for Monterey County said it is also close to reaching a settlement with the Yaleys.
