Scuba diver rescued in La Jolla Cove

SAN DIEGO, California (26 Nov 2005) -- Lifeguards have rescued a scuba diver trapped in high surf in La Jolla Cove.

The diver was pulled to shore through waves that were over two meters high.

San Diego lifeguard Lt. Nick Lerma said the male scuba diver was in shock and struggling to breathe when he was pulled ashore.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the scuba diving accident and the diver was taken to hospital where he is expected to fully recover.
