MOTITI ISLAND, New Zealand (5 Dec 2005) -- Another scuba diver has been rescued after a scuba diving accident near Motiti Island.

A 37-year-old male was rushed to Devonport Naval hospital by helicopter after getting the bends.

Rescue officials told CDNN two divers got into trouble after one diver ran out of air.

The divers started an emergency ascent sharing one air supply but that also ran out forcing the divers to ascend too quickly.

One of the divers was bent and the other nearly drowned.

The divers were evacuated by Trustpower rescue helicopter and are expected to recover.
