CORNWALL, UK (16 Dec 2005) -- The search for a diver who went missing while scuba diving on the wreck of the 'Eastfield' has been called off.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency officially called off the search which involved three lifeboats, 16 other vessels and a RNAS rescue helicopter.

The Brixham Coastguard organized the missing diver search after receiving a Mayday call from the commercial dive boat 'Cleo', which was located about two nautical miles southeast of Gorran Haven.

Officials said the missing diver was in his mid-fifties and was wearing a black and yellow drysuit and using a white tank.

No trace of the missing diver was found despite good weather and excellent visibility.
