ROCKPORT, Ontario (4 Feb 2006) -- A 39-year-old male diver from Quebec drowned in the St. Lawrence River near Rockport while scuba diving on the Kinghorn shipwreck.

The victim was found unconscious near the wreck by other divers at a depth of 25 meters (82 feet).

They brought the victim to the surface and called for help.

Although the accident is still under investigation, witnesses speculated that the diver may have been overweighted.
