CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand (19 Mar 2006) -- Helicopters and boats are searching for a scuba diver who went missing off Motunau Island, 70 kilometers north of Christchurch. Police told CDNN that rescue teams responded to the emergency at about 9am, one hour after 41-year-old Stephen John Sintes of Christchurch failed to surface according to his dive plan. Sintes was diving with friends on a reef off Motunau Island when he disappeared.
