	California student diver dies after scuba diving lesson Powered by CDNN - CYBER DIVER News Network by LUTHER MONROE - CDNN Safety News Editor LAGUNA BEACH, California (30 Apr 2006) -- A young man enrolled in a scuba diving course died after a training dive at Divers Cove in Laguna Beach. According to police, paramedics rushed to the scene of the scuba diving accident after they received a distress call at 12:25pm. Carlos Garcia, 29, was rushed to South Coast Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:10pm.
