CORK, Ireland (1 June 2006) -- A man died after he went missing while scuba diving off the coast of Cork.

The diver, a male believed to be in his 40s, was reported missing at about 3pm after his inflatable boat was found anchored at Spanish Point.

At least two helicopters and several boats were deployed to search for the missing diver.

At about 10pm, the Baltimore Lifeboat found the diver and he was transported by helicopter to Cork University Hospital where he later died.
