BRIDLINGTON BAY, UK (1 June 2006) -- Two British scuba divers who went missing in Bridlington Bay have been rescued.

The divers, both from Leeds, went missing about three miles south of Flamborough Head.

After receiving a distress call from the crew of the Leeds Diver 1 dive boat, an RAF helicopter, several lifeboat crews and a Navy warship were deployed to search for the missing divers along with local vessels.

Just over a half hour after the distress call was logged at about 2:20pm, the crew of the fishing boat Moyall spotted the missing divers and took them back to their dive boat.

Humber Coastguard Watch Manager Tony Ellis said: "From the initial distress call to recovery was only 37 minutes, partially due to the prompt communication from the dive marshal to the coastguard and the swift response of the search units."

Both divers were uninjured and did not require medical attention.
