LOS ANGELES, California (16 Aug 2006) -- The search continues for a scuba diver who went missing on Wednesday near Los Angeles harbor.

Boats, divers and at least one helicopter have been deployed to search for the diver who failed to surface about 3.5 miles outside the breakwater at the south end of Los Angeles Channel.

The U.S. Coast Guard deployed search teams after receiving a call for help from the Salty V dive boat, which was moored near a shipwreck popular with recreational scuba divers.

According to police, the missing diver was diving at a depth of about 18 meters (60 feet) with three other divers who resurfaced.
