Missing scuba diver's body found off Atlantic Beach

LONG ISLAND, New York (18 Sep 2006) -- The body of a scuba diver who went missing on September 10 has been found off Atlantic Beach, Long Island.

A sport fishing boat found the body at about 8:10am on Monday some 1.5 miles south of Long Beach.

Nassau County police said the body was found in a full wetsuit and scuba diving equipment.

The Nassau County Medical Examiner's Office is checking the indentity of the body to confirm that it is the same scuba diver who went missing while diving off the Karen dive boat.
