KNYSNA, South Africa (2 Nov 2006) -- A British tourist was rescued after being swept out to sea during a PADI scuba diving refresher course. Tony Hulse, a 58-year-old tourist from Kent, was participating in a PADI scuba diving course conducted by The Heads Adventure Diving Centre when the accident happened. According to NSRI officials, Hulse and his scuba diving instructor, Ian Venn, were rescued after drifting out to sea in an outgoing tide off the coast of Knysna in the Southern Cape. Authorities urged all scuba divers to carefully monitor tide charts when planning instructional and non-instruction diving activities, and notifying rescue personnel as soon as possible after scuba diving accidents happen. © CDNN - CYBER DIVER NEWS NETWORK |
