Body of missing scuba diver found

AUCKLAND, New Zealand (5 Feb 2007) -- The body of a 34-year-old male scuba diver has been found on a beach near the area where the victim went missing.

Authorities launched a full scale search for the diver on Monday afternoon after he was reported missing while scuba diving off Omaha beach.

Auckland police said the diver was diving with a friend when the accident happened.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
