Florida cave diving fatality third in 3 weeks

JACKSON COUNTY, Florida (6 Mar 2007) -- Another cave diver has died in Florida, the third cave diving fatality in less than three weeks.

The scuba diving accident happened at about 4:30pm at Blue Spring Recreational Park, a popular cave diving site.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was diving with a friend when something went wrong.  The buddy diver surfaced and called for help.

Jackson County deputies and rescue divers rushed to the scene of the accident, found the victim and brought him to the surface.

Attempts to revive the victim failed and he was pronounced dead at Blue Spring Recreational Park.

The death was the third cave diving fatality in Florida in less than three weeks.
