MAUI, Hawaii (8 May 2007) -- A tourist from South Dakota died while scuba diving in Maui. Marlon Thompson, 45, from Plankinton, South Dakota died while scuba diving with a friend near Kihei. Authorities have not released any details about the scuba diving fatality and to date, the accident has gone unreported by Hawaii's news media. Thompson was an officer in the National Guard and a school board member in Plankinton.
