WHITTLESEY, UK (3 June 2007) -- A man died while scuba diving at the Gildenburgh Water scuba diving and paintball park.

Lee Stanhope, 36, of Yaxley, was diving with two other divers when he disappeared at about 4:45pm.

Ian Forster, the head diving instructor at the scuba park, told authorities that divers found the victim 17 minutes after he was reported missing but attempts at the scene to resuscitate him failed.

The unconscious diver was taken to Peterborough District Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The scuba diving fatality is under investigation by the Health and Safety Executive.
