SEATTLE, Washington (31 July 2007) -- A man died while scuba diving in Puget Sound off Alki Point in Seattle.

At about 11:30am, a dive instructor with a group of students noticed that the victim, who was not participating in the diving course, was unconscious and brought him to the surface near Seacrest Marina.

The instructor called 911 for help and Seattle Fire-Rescue medics rushed to the scene of the scuba diving accident.

Medics attempted to revive the victim with CPR but he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead on the beach.

The dive instructor who brought the victim to surface said he was entangled in a buoy chain.

The accident is under investigation and officials have not yet released the identity of the victim.

Earlier this month, CDNN reported that a man died scuba diving in the same area.
