Woman dies scuba diving off Kerry coast

CASTLEGREGORY, Ireland (6 August 2007) -- A woman died while scuba diving near Castlegregory in west Kerry.

The woman, 59, was diving with her husband and friends off the Maherees when something went wrong and she failed to resurface.

Other divers immediately launched a missing diver search and found the victim unconscious at depth.

The victim was taken to Kerry General Hospital where an autopsy will be performed to determine why the woman died.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
