BAHAMAS (22 August 2007) -- A local paramedic is remembered this week after her sudden death while on vacation.

41- year-old Dawn Newberry with HEMSI died last Wednesday while scuba diving in the Bahamas.

HEMSI Director Don Webster said," it took everybody by surprise, always a lot of fun."

By surprise he means way of life, now also her death. A paramedic by nature last Wednesday Newberry died suddenly in a scuba diving accident while on vacation in the Bahamas hard to believe, because Dawn was such a lively person and energetic and full of enthusiasm, young at heart, and it was just shock."

Picture after picture -- even past articles of heroism in the Huntsville Times.

Nobody can seem to cope with the tragic loss of one who saved the lives of others.
