AUSTIN, Texas (13 Oct 2007) -- A man who was participating in a scuba diving course died at Travis Lake on Saturday.

The as yet unidentified man was diving with a dive instructor and two students at Windy Point Park when he encountered problems at a depth of 26.2 meters (86 feet).

Rescuers pulled the victim from the water and initiated CPR as paramedics rushed to the scene of the scuba diving accident.

The man was taken to Brackenridge Hospital by StarFlight where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities told CDNN they did not know if the man was an experienced diver helping the instructor or one of the students in the scuba diving class.

The depth of 26.2 meters (86 feet) at which the victim was found indicates the victim died during an advanced level training course.
