One diver dead, two rescued off Mendocino County coast

MCKINLEYVILLE, California (19 Oct 2007) — The body of a man who died while diving off the Mendocino County coast has been recovered.

Authorities found the victim's body after it washed ashore about six miles north of Fort Bragg.

Two other divers in the same group were rescued after they were stranded near Kibesillah Rock.

The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office declined to release the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.

The diving fatality is under investigation.
