POMPANO BEACH, Florida (25 Oct 2007) — A man who died while scuba diving off Pompano Beach drowned according to an autopsy report issued by the Broward Medical Examiner's Office.

Larry Starr, 60, of Pompano Beach, was found unconscious by another diver at a depth of 27.4 meters (90 feet) about a mile offshore and a half mile south of the Pompano Beach fishing pier.

Starr, an experienced diver, was diving alone Sunday morning off his own 27-ft boat when he drowned.

Other divers in the area called for help and brought the victim to shore.

The medical examiner ruled that Starr's death was accidental.
