ATHENS, Greece (30 Oct 2007) — The Greek Coastguard is searching for a scuba diver who disappeared while exploring an underwater cave in the Peloponnese peninsula south of Athens.

A Coastguard patrol boat and rescue divers are searching for the diver, who disappeared while diving in a cave in Astros Kynourias, a seaside resort in northeastern Peloponnese.

The government has also brought in professional cave divers to assist in the missing diver search.

Search officials told CDNN the missing diver is a 67-year-old Swiss national.

The Peloponnese peninsula, which was hard hit by fires two months ago, is a popular scuba diving destination.
