KEY LARGO, Florida (31 Dec 2007) — Less than one day after a tourist died scuba diving in the Florida Keys, another holiday-maker has died scuba diving in Florida's most popular dive destination.

Police told CDNN the victim was a 51-year-old male from Wisconsin who was diving off the Gulf Stream Eagle dive boat out of scuba clown Spencer Slate's Atlantis Dive Center.

According to witnesses, something went wrong when the victim and his buddy started to ascend after diving for about 25 minutes.

The buddy saw the victim unconcious at the surface and called for help.

After the boat crew radioed for help, the Coast Guard responded and took the victim to shore.

Attempts to resuscitate him failed and he was pronounced dead at about 12:30pm.

In September 2006, CDNN reported about another scuba diving accident at Atlantis Dive Center.

That accident involved staff diver Dave Marcel who nearly lost part of his face after he tried to entertain Atlantic Dive Center customers by kissing a shark.
