LONDON, UK (17 Jan 2008) — The inquest into the death of American tourist Tina Watson resumes today in Townsville.

Watson, 26, died on her honeymoon while she and her husband Gabe Watson were scuba diving with Mike Ball Dive Expeditions at the Yongala wreck.

The inquest started in November when dozens of witnesses testified over a two-week interval.

Some 20 witnesses are expected to testify during the second half of the inquest, which is expected to continue for another two weeks.

The victim's parents, Tom and Cindy Thomas, attended the first half of the inquest and expected to return for the final two weeks of hearings.

Much of the testimony in the first half revolved around the conduct of Gabe Watson, a rescue diver who was unable to save his wife after she encountered problems at depth.
