CANCUN, Mexico (8 Feb 2008) — A mum has spoken of her grief after the FBI confirmed that the body of a diver found drowned off Mexico IS her husband. Last week tearful Kim Anderson had to break the heartbreaking news to her two young sons that their dad was dead. Oil worker Paul's body was pulled from the sea near the holiday resort of Cancun eight months ago. Kim, 38, of Elgin, said: "All along, in my heart of hearts, I thought it would be him but as time goes by you start to wonder. "I had to sit down with our sons, aged eight and nine, and tell them that the man they found was their daddy. It was heartbreaking. "Paul and I may have been in the latter stages of a divorce but he was still the man I was married to for 10 years and the father of our two lovely boys. "Although I was expecting the news, it is still a shock. You are never prepared for something like this." Paul, 38, who had a teenage son from a previous relationship, split from Kim and started a new life in Mexico. His new partner - 35-year-old Mexican Dali Costa - gave birth to their son Bruce in November, five months after Paul vanished while snorkelling. Two sets of DNA tests by the Mexican authorities failed to confirm the body found in the sea was Paul's and in December the FBI were called in. The Americans passed the results to Foreign Office officials who told Kim on Thursday. Grieving Kim suspects her late husband may have been a bigamist. | She said: "When my father phoned his house Dali answered and said she was Mrs Anderson. I phoned later and said 'Who is this?' She said, 'Paul's wife.' "I later asked him if he had done something stupid and he just laughed it off." Now Kim is faced with the problem of winding up Paul's estate and arranging a funeral. She said: "I have a list of international lawyers in Mexico and I am also talking to Paul's employers. "There are four wee boys who have to be brought up."
